About the Event
Join Native Urban Garden Stewardship volunteers, Rhea Homa and Liz Glowark, as they share their passion for native flowers. During this workshop, you will learn about the ecological benefits and burdens of different methods of gardening/landscaping. We will take a look at how a native, biodiverse landscape benefits local pollinators and birds, the emergence of lawns and non-native landscaping, and provide solutions for implementing native methods that will support healthier communities for humans, heal local ecosystems, and provide food and habitat to species on the brink of extinction like the Monarch Butterfly and the Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee. Each attendee will receive a packet of native flower seeds as a thank-you for attending.
