FREE GRANT WRITING FOR MUNICIAL SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS!

Small towns and rural communities throughout the United States are looking for ways to strengthen their economies, provide better quality of life, and build on local assets. Promote PT (Penn-Trafford) has launched a new project to help Westmoreland and Eastern Allegheny County municipalities, townships, and cities to secure federal funding for climate-friendly projects in their communities.

Economically, sustainability projects can create a healthier, safer and more productive environment. Socially, sustainable practices can help strengthen community bonds, improve quality of life and provide hope for a better future.

The project, Green Dreams: Grant Writing for a Sustainable Future, is funded by the Rural Climate Partnership. Therefore, there is no fee for Promote PT to assist communities in identifying, planning, and implementing green projects for public buildings (e.g. implementing a clean school bus program; installing solar panels to create new and reusable energy; prioritizing weatherization and energy efficiency; creating public green spaces that enhance biodiversity and human wellbeing; and purchasing electric vehicles and building out a charging network.)

Promote PT’s Municipal Grant and Outreach Program Manager, Laura Vincenti, will assist in writing each community’s federal grant application as well as provide technical assistance in the development of their projects.

New federal dollars from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the CHIPS Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for communities to access billions of dollars to advance climate-forward solutions.

The Green Dreams project will enable communities to tap into these available resources and add value to their community by realizing that energy-friendly projects benefit them economically,” said Vincenti.

Communities can focus on their own geographic area or build partnerships with nearby municipalities, townships, and cities.

Westmoreland and Eastern Allegheny Counties can become leaders in clean energy and environmental sustainability, and you can help move this project forward.
